Wave is an 13 inches thick mattress, made of five different foam layers. Here are the details of its construction:
A comfort layer, as soft as velvet, makes up the top 1 inch surface of this mattress. It is soft and resilient, with a subtle bounce, very much unlike memory foam. Hence, if you dislike the ‘stuck’ feel, you would love this comfort surface, as it keeps you afloat on the mattress.
Next is a 1.5-inch latex foam layer. Because of its close placement to the top comfort surface, this latex layer adds to the mattress resilience or bounce. Latex foam and the first layer is what helps prevent uncomfortable sinking in the mattress. Latex comes with own set of benefits. It is much healthier and lacks the toxic off-gassing that’s common in memory foam mattresses. Latex also adds to the mattress durability, so no matter how often you sleep on the bed, it will last longer.
The third layer is 1.5 inches of memory foam, making up the final surface of the comfort system of Wave. After a bit of resilience, you finally feel a light sink-in feel, providing the essential contouring of your body curves and pressure points. The memory foam is sandwiched between two resilient surfaces, a remarkable technique to add light bounce to the entire construction with a hint of memory foam coziness.
Now starts the Wave’s support mechanism. First up is a 1.5-inch high-resilience polyfoam, which again provides a bit of push, so you don’t simply sink into the mattress. This foam layer contains more than 33 channels, mainly depending on mattress size. They help with adjusting your body to the bed, specially the significant pressure areas, like shoulders and hips.
The final base layer is 5.5 inches of Hyper Targeted Support™. This specialized foam is convoluted, facilitating heat distribution to keep you cool at night and prevent hot sleep. Besides, Hyper Targeted Support™ lives up to its name, enhancing pressure relief in the main pressure points of your body. You also get exceptional lumbar support thanks to this surface.
